Obituary for Katherine Norden
Katherine Doherty Norden, of East Haven, passed away on June 25, 2017 while traveling in Greece. Kathy was born in New Haven on November 6, 1949, a daughter of the late Thomas and Alice Quirk Doherty. She attended Lauralton Hall and graduated from Sacred Heart University with a degree in teaching. She earned her master’s degree from SCSU. Kathy’s 41 year career includes work at St. Anne’s and teaching throughout the Milford School system. She was greatly loved by her students wherever she taught.
Kathy leaves behind her loving family including her siblings Margaret Quigley, Thomas (Judith) Doherty and William Doherty, nieces and nephews Robert Quigley, Amy Simmons, Peter Quigley, Michael Doherty, Suzanne DiPalermo and the late Jennifer Quigley; her great nieces and nephews who were the loves of her life: Olivia, Ryann, MacKenzie and Ethan. She always honored the memory of her beloved westie Shaymus.
Kathy lived life to the fullest, traveling throughout the world with her many friends, including Anita, Anne, Nancy, Marianne and Duffy. She loved all and was loved by all. Family and friends are invited to come celebrate the extraordinarily full and vibrant life of Katherine at a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at St. Agnes Church, Woodmont on FRIDAY AUGUST 4 at 10:30.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens’ Hospital or to Liberty Community Services, Sunrise Café, New Haven.
