Raymond Vece, Jr., age 90, of West Haven, husband of the late Angelina (Rosarbo) Vece passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018 in Branford. Born in New Haven on November 8, 1927, he was the son of the late Raymond, Sr. and Rose (LaVorgna) Vece. Raymond is survived by his children Frank (Francine) Cuomo, Donna Clement (George Rosello), Roseanne Vece, grandchildren, Gina Rosarbo, Celina Dalby, Michael Cuomo, Roseanne Clement, seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Beside his beloved wife Angelina, Raymond was predeceased by his grandson Frank A. Cuomo, his brothers Daniel and James Vece, and sisters Marie “Dolly” Kearney, Rita Quagliani, Emily Terese and Dolores Hunt.
Before his retirement, Raymond worked with his brothers at Danny’s Market, located in the Hill section of New Haven for over fifty years and was a driver for Hy’s Livery. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He was the best of the best. Most of all, Raymond will be remembered for his love of his family and his sense of humor. A special thank you to Evelyn Williams who was his care giver for many years and to the staff of nurses and aids at Branford Hills who took care of him.
A visitation will be held on Monday evening from 4 to 7 at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 10:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in Saint Lawrence Cemetery.
