Rose Graboski (Onofrio)
Rose Pagano Onofrio Graboski, 95, of West Haven and Hamden entered into rest on April 27, 2018. Those left to remember her include her daughter Antoinette (the late Dermot) O’Brien (Donald) Russo, stepdaughter Susan (Bruce) Gerber, brother Salvatore (Dolores) Pagano, grandchildren Rosemary (Alan Alfonso) O’Brien, former West Haven Mayor Edward (Roberta) O’Brien, Michael (Kathy) O’Brien, Frank O’Brien, Jessica Gerber, Dawn Gerber and great grandchildren Caitlin and David O’Brien, Nicholas and Alex Alfonso, Katie and Sonny Franke.
In addition to her parents Francesco and Rose Fanello Pagano, Rose is predeceased by her husband of 31 years Frank Onofrio, her husband of 17 years John Graboski, her brothers Paul, Joseph, James and Benjamin Pagano and her stepson David Graboski.
Rose was employed in the retail field in sales and as a buyer for Grants, Kayes, The Outlet, The Virginia Shop and Gordon’s. Later she and her husband John ran their own delivery service. Rose was a devoted caretaker to her father until his passing at the age of 95. She was a successful gardener. Many summers she filled her freezer, those of her family members and even area homeless shelters, with the items she had so lovingly grown. Her other talents included sewing and crocheting. She was an avid reader. Roses’ family wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Atria and Seacrest for their kindness, care and compassion.
Visitation will take place on TUESDAY from 5 to 7 pm and on WEDNESDAY morning from 8 to 9:30 at the West Haven Funeral Home at the green. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Paul Church at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
