Donna Lee Nally, age 74, of West Haven passed away on May 4, 2018 after a long hard fought illness. She was born in Augusta, Maine on October 29, 1943, daughter of the late James and Willa McGuire Recchia. Donna is survived by Galen Nally, her loving and devoted husband of 52 years. Also survived by her daughters Suzanne (William) Gall of West Haven and Kate (Sal) Esposito of North Haven. She leaves behind the lights of her life, her special and cherished granddaughters, Isabella Esposito and Erika Gall. Donna is survived by her siblings, James “Sonny” (Sharon) Recchia, Michael (Patricia) Recchia, Theresa Recchia, Elizabeth (David) Forsyth, Eddie (Chantel) Recchia and Shelly (Carlos) Padro and the late Lisa Recchia. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, John, Beth, David, Jason, Kristin, Francesca, Hayley, Jaycey, Max, Alex, Emilie, Joseph and Willa.
Donna spent a majority of her career as an Administrative Assistant for the West Haven City Council office. She held many other positions including secretary for the Charter Revision Committee, Police Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals. However Donna’s true enjoyment was being with her large and loving family. She truly enjoyed traveling and the highlight of her travels, was taking her granddaughters to Wells Beach, Maine where they made many happy memories.
The hours for visitation will be Monday from 4-7pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 8:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Vianney Church at 9am. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
